Nobody handed him a roadmap. So he built his own.
Clinton grew up through abuse, homelessness and instability. No diploma, no connections, no safety net. What he had was an unusual ability to read people and see where culture was heading before everyone else did. He turned that into a career that keeps reinventing itself, and into a conviction he now teaches: your circumstances explain where you started, not where you finish.

The basement
From a makeshift studio in his mother’s basement, he convinced major record labels he was already running a successful radio show. They believed him, and he made it true.
The airwaves
On air at Boston’s Hot 97.7 by 2000, he went on to build a 22-city syndicated radio show and become part of Eminem’s Shade 45 on SiriusXM. In 2004 he co-founded MixUnit.com, which became one of the internet’s biggest mixtape marketplaces.
The records
A Grammy nomination, multi-platinum plaques and more than 80 million records sold. He discovered and signed DJ Snake and worked with Beyoncé, Eminem, Lady Gaga and Kanye West.
The brand building
He became a C-suite executive at multiple companies and consulted for brands like Build-A-Bear and Cîroc. He spent five years as a host on E! News, while his Get Familiar brand took him around the world as a DJ.
The pivot to gaming
As VP of Business Development at FaZe Clan, he explained gaming to Wall Street, recruited major names, and helped raise millions for what became the first billion-dollar gaming lifestyle brand.
The founder
He co-founded XSET, raised millions, and opened the first gaming lounge inside a Las Vegas nightclub and the first at Boston’s Fenway Park. Then he founded the Global Gaming League and raised $10 million to build it.
The microphone
A pioneer in podcasting, Clinton returned in 2026 with GET FAMILIAR with Clinton Sparks, a new podcast from iHeartRadio, the network where his career began more than 20 years ago.
